Bondi is a vibrant community year round, however there's something extra special about the area when the sun is shining, the beach transforms into a vibrant hub as locals and visitors alike take to the golden sand and rolling waves, and the streets fill with the kind of excitement that only Christmas brings.
To help you get in the spirit, we've rounded up five of the Rocker team's top picks for making the most of our Bondi backyard over the coming weeks.
Sunset Cinema
Head down to Dolphin Court in the Bondi Pavilion precinct for open air screenings of feel good classics ranging from Love Actually and The Holiday, to Wicked and Home Alone through to Saturday, 21st December.
The screenings—which are dog friendly—feature movie essentials including popcorn and bean bags, and ticket holders are able to bring their own picnic, or food from surrounding venues (we always recommend popping into Rocker for your takeaway essentials). There's also a bar situated within the space.
Carols by the Sea
There's no better way to get in the festive spirit, than with an outdoor Christmas carol sing-a-long!
A free initiative from Waverley Council, this annual event will be taking over Bondi Pavilion from 5pm on Wednesday, 11th December, where you can expect carols by local musicians, food trucks, and activities for the little ones.
New Year's Eve at Dudley Reserve
With its sweeping views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, Dudley Reserve in Dover Heights is the perfect option if you're looking to watch the fireworks away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Nearby roads will be closed from 6pm until 2am, so be sure to head there early to nab your optimum vantage point. Food will be available or you can bring your own, and there will be a licensed bar onsite.
